Visit the Farm... the Deanna Rose Children's Farmstead that is!
•When, Where, What: The Deanna Rose Children's Farmstead (13800 Switzer, Overland Park, KS) is open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., April 1 to Oct. 31. During the summer (Memorial Day to Labor Day), the Farmstead is open until 8 p.m. on Tuesday and Thursday. Admission is FREE Monday-Thursday, and $2/ea (1 and under free) Friday-Sunday. 913.897.2360

•Why We LOVE It: The Deanna Rose Children's Farmstead is one of our family's FAVORITE outings in Kansas City! This year, they introduce the New Attractions: Vic's General Store, Alex & Emily's Ice Cream Parlor, and a new Education Pavilion. The children love feeding goats, watching horses, turkeys, prairie dogs, bison, and chickens. My girls LOVE taking pony rides, but they also offer wagon rides, mining, and fishing. Explore the Dairy Barn, pond, petting zoo, one-room country schoolhouse and the Indian Encampment. The children's butterfly garden is a great place to play or take a photo. Nothing says spring quite like a day at the farm!

Easter Egg Hunt Train Rides: Midland Railway April 23, Midland Railway. Trains depart from the Depot at 10am, Noon, 2pm and 4pm. The train travels 5 miles to Norwood, KS where the children/families get off the train. Each Train load of children (0-12 years of age)hunt for 300+ eggs scattered all over the Park area at Norwood. While on the train, children can visit the Easter Bunny, have their picture taken with the Easter Bunny. Bring your cameras and take photos!
