GHOST WRITER

"When we met my heart was fragile having been ripped up and stomped on and left for dead. I had picked up the pieces and taped it together to hold on for longer for the sake of the boy. You sailed in with your glitz and your glam, a beautiful man who was mean and kind in the same breath. I folded into you giving me false confidence that would be ripped away when your laser tongue struck. I leaned on you with false stability until you would slip away as I would fall to the ground. You used all my confiding in you and all my weakness to make you feel stronger. I've allowed you to have your way with my heart for far too long. What you failed to notice was every laser tongue and every time I was allowed to fall I saw you differently. Little by little I folded less into you. Little by little I caught myself before hitting the ground. Now your effect on me leaves nothing but a blank stare. I am strong. And now we have come to the end. You have had your way with my heart for the last time. Your laser tongue doesn't even arouse a flinch in me. Now when you slip away I stand tall. So go, go I say. There will be no more."

GHOST WRITER

"You move people around your stage at will. You are cocky and arrogant that people will play like puppets around you. I intrigued you because I was no puppet. And now the very thing that intrigued you has left you with frustration and anger. I have no puppet strings still and your anger grows to hatred because I still after years will not join your puppet collection. I refuse purposefully now to show you, you truly have no control over me or anyone else. In the end you will be left holding nothing but strings and what is left of false confidence."

HELLO LOVER

Yes hello lover. Hello adorable prized prosession. Hello new obsession. Hello new addition to Fall wardrobe. Hello gorgeous bootie. Hello making me feel like hotness.
Ok...Ok...I'm done talking to my new addition to my Fall wardrobe....these adorable booties. YUM!
Photobucket
I can not wait to wear these bad boys with an adorable dress and tights or with some cute black pants or a skirt and tights or with those boyfriend jeans I plan on buying (but I didn't get yesterday cause I didn't want to wait in line for an hour call me lazy) or or or.....can you tell I'm just SO excited about these booties or what?I know I know it seems kind of dumb to get so excited about a new pair of shoes, but they are just so adorable. They are a little more of heel than I normally like to wear, but I think they will be worth it.
Yes! Yes! Hello lover, I wonder if people will think I'm weird if I sleep in them? Well maybe I just won't tell people I'm sleeping in them. My dog might object once she gets one of those heels to the side of the head. I wonder if you can ride a bike in them? Vaccuum in them? Wash dishes in them? Apparently I can even wear them now with cut offs (see pic). If I only looked as good in them as Gisele...

Yes I will be wearing these a lot over the Fall and Winter.

TOMS SHOES

This is my charity donation for the month. TOMS Shoes. Not only did I get two adorable and comfy pair of shoes (see picture) I...by buying these cute little (well not little on my big feet) shoes....I gave two children in need a pair of shoes.
Photobucket
Awesomeness!!! I'm sure you've seen the commercial, but if not TOMS Shoes has a deal called One For One....the deal is you buy one pair of shoes and they dontate one pair of shoes to a child in need.
"TOMS Shoes was founded on a simple premise: With every pair you purchase, TOMS will give a pair of new shoes to a child in need. One for One. Using the purchasing power of individuals to benefit the greater good is what we're all about. "
Can you say "hello do gooder with cute shoes?"

DAIRY QUEEN & CHILDREN'S MIRACLE NETWORK

Do a little good while you eat a little good.

Buy a Blizzard at participating Dairy Queens on August 13 and proceeds will go to Children's Miracle Network.

I think the key word above is "participating" maybe it would be a good idea to ask.

PIONEER WOMAN'S SPREADS

Got this lovely little simple and yummy recipe from the fabulous Pioneer Woman. This recipe is super simple (which is like one of my favorite things) and super yummy (which is another one of my favorite things) with chocolate on top (breath just breath).

Photobucket
PIONEER WOMAN'S SPREADS

1 cup brown sugar
1 cup margarine
1 egg
2 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla
6-8 ounces of chocolate chips (go for 8 ounces or 12 like I did)

Oven 350 degrees

Mix together brown sugar and margarine. Next add egg and mix together. Now add flour, salt, and vanilla, and mix together well.

Spread the dough onto cookie sheet to a thickness of 1/4 to 1/2 inch.

Bake for 15 - 20 minutes or until slightly brown.

Sprinkle chocolate chips evenly over top. Return to oven for 1 minute. Remove from oven and spread the melted chips evenly over top.

Cut into squares and EAT EAT EAT!!!

BACON CHEESEBURGER ROLL-UP

Got this recipe from Kraft Foods. I actually printed it out almost a year ago and just now came across it again. It seemed pretty simple and had ingredients my whole family liked. It was super simple and my whole family raved about it.

Photobucket

BACON CHEESEBURGER ROLL-UP
1 pound of ground beef (I think I used a little over a pound)
4 slices of Oscar Mayer bacon, chopped (I did not use oscar meyer and I just tore it up)
1 small onion (I didn't use onions in mine because of the kiddos)
1/2 pound Velveeta Pasterized cheese product, cut into 1/2 inch cubes (I grated mine and let me tell you velveeta is not the easiest to grate)
1 package (13.8 ounce) refridgerated pizza crust

Oven 400 degrees

Brown beef
Cook bacon
Add onions into beef
Add velveeta (they tell you to put all the mixture in the pan and add cheese and mix until cheese is melted but since I did mine shredded I just put shredded cheese on top after I put meat on pizza crust).
Unroll pizza dough onto a baking sheet sprayed with cooking spray. Press into a 15 x 8 inch rectangle, top with meat mixture

Photobucket

Roll up starting at one of the long sides. Rearrange if necessary so roll is seam side down.

Photobucket

Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.

I WANNA BE A GYPSY.....BABY!

I am SO into gypsy decor lately. I'm just loving the mixed colors and mix matched patterns. I have no idea why I'm just loving it. I'm thinking about completely redecorating my bedroom and doing it in a gypsy inspired way. I'm just not sure of what gypsy color combinations I am wanting to use. Here are a few pictures I've found for inspiration that I'm loving.

May post more along the way....well as long as the gypsy obsession lasts and I'm on to the next fascination.

READING

I am currently reading two books. No I don't know why I am ready two books at once, but I am. I read one in the evenings during the week and then the other I read on the weekends. Yes I'm weird and perhaps have two different personalities, one for during the week and one for the weekends.

One book I have been reading off and on for awhile is called Henry and June. But I've decided to finish that darn thing this time. It is a really good book and interesting. She reminds me a lot of my favorite author Sylvia Plath. It is basically about her sexuality and her obsession with a couple she meets named....yep you guessed it.....Henry and June.

About a month ago I read on the Twitter that Lauren Conrad was coming to Houston to do a book signing. I watched Laguna Beach and The Hills and always loved her. So I bought a book and went and stood in line with a bunch of teeny boppers and met her and got my book signed. She is even more pretty in person. She was adorable and nice and so tiny (skinny b*tch :) just kidding LC I'm just jealous).
Photobucket

So now I am off and reading her lovely little book called L.A. Candy. Now I have heard that they are in talks of making her book into a movie. Can't tell you what I think of that yet being that I'm only about 5 chapters in, but iIwill let you know.
Photobucket

On my previous blog I was good about keeping up what I was reading, but I kind of sucked at following up and doing a review of them after I had finished. To let you know my opinions on whether I thought it was a worthy read. I promise to do better about following up with reviews now and letting you know what I think.

A NEW BEGINNING

(picture taken by Far From Perfect)
So I guess this is my some forced upon me, some done by stupid accidents and some choices time to be made. I'm not new to blogging for those of you who have happened upon this blog by accident and are seeing this as my first post. I have blogging for years and years and....yes years. But because things have been insane and stressful and mad lately I stupidly and accidently deleted my old blog. I'm so sad about it. I know it sounds dumb, but that was like my life written in there between fashion and recipes was bits and pieces of my life that I hoped my kids could read someday when I'm dead or old and senile. I am so beyond mad at myself for being so mindless for a brief moment.

But moving on I suppose........

There are many other changes coming my way. Some of them long time coming some of them active decisions that I needed and wanted to make. Some of them for the sake of privacy I don't want to talk about yet and some I'm ready to run into screaming.

One of the more happy exciting ones is my newly and improved resume that is ready to be sent out to this AWESOME job that I am totally banking on and hoping not to be let down. Right now I'm working as a Legal Assistant suppose to be part time, but as any part timer out there knows you always get guilted into pretty much working full time. But I have recently come across this amazing oppurtunity that I SO SO want and if I don't get it I will be sad. Will let you know how that goes.

Other changes going on are sad and scary and life changing and will be discussed at a later date.

Right now we are getting ready for school to start and getting ready to travel back to MO to visit the family and friends we left behind a year and a half ago.

If you are just stumbling across this blog it will be filled with what I'm reading, what I'm cooking, what music I've come across, what I'm doing, what I'm not doing, what I'm b*tching about, crafts projects I'm doing, photos I've taken, photos I've found and love, fashion I like or great finds I've found, magazine article I love, celebrity gossiping, family gossiping, my gratefulness for life, love laughter and l-i-v-i-n, and all the changes I go through along the way. I'm all over here and all over there and always changing my mind and always trying new things. I am in three words FAR FROM PERFECT.
