I'M ALL READY FOR CHRISTMAS.....

....well except for the presents part.

Now that Thanksgiving is nothing but a stinky turkey pan in the trash can.......it's time to get into the Christmas spirit.
I used my 4 day weekend wisely & went ahead & got my tree up, otherwise who knows if I ever would have gotten it up.
I think I have change the decor on my mantle every month since I moved into my new pad.  Changes is good.

Now just need to go visit that Mr. Clause & make sure he has me on his nice list this year, so I don't have to chase him down with a crowbar........again.

OH yea & get some presents for those crazy kiddos of mine. :)

MEAL PLAN MONDAY

Steak Quesadilla

  • ½ of a steak
  • Havarti cheese
  • Thyme
  • Onions
  • Barbecue sauce
  • Butter
  • Tortilla (I used tomato flavoured)
  • Garden vegetable cream cheese
  • Pizza/pasta sauce
Get a pan large enough to fit your tortilla, add butter and saute the onions. Once the onions become clear, add in your steak slices, along with a little bit of thyme. Cook this for about a minute, add barbecue sauce and mix until coated, once this is done take your steak and onions out of the pan.
Take your tortilla, spread cream cheese on one half and pasta sauce on the other half, add cheese on one side, then your steak and onions and then more cheese! Melt some butter in your pan until it’s sizzling and fold your tortilla in half and cook until golden brown on each side. Then devour!

WHAT AM I READING?

THE HIPPIE TRIP

“A new, colorful, and fascinating drama has emerged on the American scene. The action involves ‘love,’ ‘spiritually free sex,’ dope as a religious sacrament, and a new work ethic.” And so sociologist Yablonsky begins his novel, giving the reader an opportunity to join him on his “hippie trip”. Yablonsky delves into the hippie movement as a sociologist, a “hip” interviewer/reporter, and as an involved person. This book includes experiences and perceptions from all three of these integral facets of Yablonsky’s personality.
Yablonsky combines an extensive, coherent report on hippie life with a thorough look at the movement in relation to the wider societal issues of the time. The book begins with aPreview, an introduction into the scene, and then moves onto The Trip, Yablonsky’s actual journey. Part III, Analysis, examines the hippie movement in its own right and within the framework of American society. Part IV, The Appendix, is a presentation of data from questionnaires filled out by over seven hundred hippies. And there is, of course, a Glossary for all of you readers who may not be familiar with the terminology of the psychedelic movement.

PICTURE A RANDOM

PINE CONE BASEBALL & SLING SHOT

You can never fully appreciate your parents until you have children & understand all the emotions they had to go through.
And as you watch your own children with your parents it brings back so many memories of the things they did with you. Because through your teenage years all you remember is the things they didn't do for you.
I also think being a Grand Parent takes a lot of the stress you go through as a parents.  I mean they still worry about their Grand Kids, but not that gut wrenching worry they they did when their own 16 year old was on the road or their 10 year old was at a sleep over.
Grand Parents get to enjoy more of the kiddo part being a Grand Parent and have less of the stress as they did as a parent.

SIT

Sit.
Rest.
Work.
Alone with yourself,
Never weary.
On the edge of the forest
Live joyfully,
Without desire.
