DIY ALPHABET HOT PACK

DIY: Alphabet Hot Pack

Our web graphic designer Esther Choi whipped up this alphabet heat pack do-it-yourself project to help relieve your holiday stress.

Materials:
Scraps of heat-safe, colorful fabric with different patterns, sewing pins, needle, thread, sewing machine (optional), uncooked rice.

1. Machine or hand-sew together your scraps of fabric so create a quilt-like look, making sure to iron down your extra seams so your hot packs don't look bulky.

2. Trace the outline of a letter onto a piece of printing paper.  I used a flower pot to make a perfect "o."

3. Place two pieces of fabric together, with their good sides facing inwards.

4. Pin your paper letter to the fabric and cut.

5. Machine or hand-sew your pieces of fabric together a quarter inch from their edges, leaving a small gap.

6.  Flip your letter inside-out, so that the good side of the fabric is now on the exterior.

7. Fill with your hot pack letter with uncooked rice, then sew it up.

8.  Microwave your hot pack for about 30 seconds and feel that stress melt away!
